It is assumed in this article that Catalan translation studies is the body of research within this field of knowledge written in Catalan and/or dealing with some aspect of Catalan reality. Starting from that assumption, the article aims to identify trends in current Catalan research on translation around two guiding principles: translation kind or mode (legal, scientific and technical, audiovisual, literary, interpreting) and some notions cutting across different kinds and modes (new technologies applied to translation, translation and language planning, translation competence, translator training and strictly theoretical contributions). Finally, the article emphasizes the importance of book series and specialized journals insofar as they serve as both vehicles and activators of research. (A.)
