Abstract

This article provides an overview of the potential of Citizen Science projects in the field of humanities research, in particular historical research on children's and young people's literature, historical educational research, cultural history research and historical textbook research. Citizen Science is still a relatively new format whose advantages have already been demonstrated in various projects, especially in the natural and social sciences. However, there are very few projects in the (digital) humanities in which citizens are involved. This gap should be closed. The potentials and challenges for humanities citizen science projects will be presented using the project Interlinking Pictura, which was carried out in 2018.
