El estudio de la educación superior privada en México: un tema pendiente.

Abstract
Despite the importance attained by private institutions of higher education as a result of its significant growth, since the 1980´s, and the current debate over the commodification higher education services, the study of private higher education (esp) in México has not been a relevant issue in educational research agendas. This paper presents a summary of the lines of inquiry on this particular field and on its main agents. It concludes that at an international a national level the analysis of esp has been limited compared with the studies on public higher education, and proposes some research topics that would broaden our understanding of higher education.
