Abstract
Room temperature infrared absorption spectra from 650 to 4000 cm(-1) of
Buriti (Mauritia flexuosa L.) oil, a fruit from the Amazon region, is
given. It is composed basically of fatty acids, tocopherols and
carotenoids. The assignment of the observed bands was done based on the
correlations with the infrared spectra of its individual components and
other compounds already published. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights
