Abstract

The article opposes the proposed Resource Description and Access (RDA) cataloging code. According to the author, there is no good practical reason why the structure of AACR2 has been abandoned in favor of RDA. He also notes that RDA is not structured around the areas and dements specified in the International Standard Bibliographic Description (ISBD), which is used as the basis for description in almost all modern cataloging codes, and whose order and punctuation are accepted throughout the world.
