Abstract

The article focuses on the for-profit sector of adult, continuing and distance education, which continues to develop its market. Top executives of several leading for-profit higher education companies gave the first public glimpse of 2005 into some of the trends affecting the bottom line in associate's and bachelor's degree higher education. Corinthian Colleges Inc., ITT Educational Services Inc., and DeVry Inc. all released quarterly earnings and held conference calls with Wall Street analysts in late January 2005.
