Abstract
The paper deals with a topic that becomes more and more
important as more and more case-based reasoning systems go into
practical usage and are challenged to survive with little
additional efforts in constantly changing environments. The paper
starts with a short overview of the state of the theory and
practice in CBR systems maintenance and discusses some still
existing shortcomings from a more practical point of view. The
main part consists of a comprehensive list of CBR systems
maintenance issues and tries to point out what issues are
satisfactorily solved and what issues need further research and
tool development efforts in order to meet important practical
requirements.
