As various applications require concrete knowledge about the position
of objects, different methods for localization exist. Unfortunately,
most off the shelf methods lack precision or are not applicable indoors.
In this paper we present SNoW Bat, a full featured decentralized
ultrasonic system for three dimensional localization and tracking
of mobile objects. SNoW Bat is a sensor net solution supporting self-configuration
for easy deployment, robustness for fault tolerance and simultaneous
monitoring of several objects for increased scalability. Applied
techniques and results will be discussed in detail allowing a brief
comparison to similar systems available.
