Abstract

An extensive evaluation of the available methods for predicting the saturated liquid density of pure hydrocarbons as a function of temperature has been made with as much of the available literature data as could be found. Results of these evaluations are given, and the revised Rackett equation with one constant determined fromexperimental data is shown to be more accurate. With the list of constants given for use in the modified Rackett equation, one can predict accurately the variation of the saturated liquid density over the entire temperature range from the triple point to the critical point.
