For the Québec government, the current context
supports further development of wind energy in
the private, rather than the public, sector. The
nationalization of the hydroelectric sector in the
1960s had other objectives, the most important
being the establishment of uniform rates across
Québec and service throughout the province.
These objectives have, today, been met.
