Abstract

SumOne for Kids, a service designed to assist human service agencies track child welfare programs, uses Progress Software's WebSpeed Internet/Web server software and Progress 8.2 DBMS to help report specific program outcomes to stakeholders. These people include human services purchasers and providers, private foundations that fund the services, policy makers and service recipients. SumOne for Kids, created by the Corporation for Standards and Outcomes (CS&O), provides clear, definable methods to determine the effectiveness of programs targeted at helping children and families. CS&O uses WebSpeed to transfer data from client organizations. CS&O encourages its stakeholders to use its Web site to share their respective thoughts via online surveys. CS&O is also working with Progress 8.2 to provide the SumOne for Kids service with the vital reports, graphs and presentations that illustrate what its stakeholders want to know.
