Effect of Syntactic Complexity on Translating from/into English/Arabic
A. Abdul-Fattah. Babel: Revue internationale de la traduction/International Journal of Translation, (2006)
Abstract
After graduating from translation departments/colleges, most Arab students cont inue to encounter numerous problems in translating a text from/into English/Art topic Most teachers and students of translation normally consider new/technical vocabulary to be the most strenuous problem facing those wouldtbe translators. Decoding the meaning of a new/technical word, we hold, is not an insurmountable problem since a translator always has access to context clues, (specialized) dictiont aries and experts in different topics.
