One of the latest applications in GPS is the E911 call service for
wireless phones. In this case current GPS navigation accuracy meets
the FCC requirements but the hardware size and power consumption
of GPS are issued for implementation. The software GPS receiver could
be the solution. In this paper a GPS signal processing algorithm
for software GPS receiver is developed. The IF signal is sampled
directly from the RF chip and all the other processing including
signal acquisition, tracking, making TDOA(Time difference of arrival)
measurement aided by reference station information, and solving the
navigation solution are implemented in software using signal processing
techniques. The simulations and experiments with real GPS data are
performed to validate the proposed algorithm.
