A. Coniglio, M. Nicodemi, и M. Ciamarra. Abstract Book of the XXIII IUPAP International Conference on Statistical Physics, Genova, Italy, (9-13 July 2007)
Аннотация
Recent experiments and simulations have corroborated the possibility of a statistical mechanics description of dense granular media. In this framework,
the statistical properties of a granular system are summarised by few
'thermodynamic' parameters, and the properties of the granular system
can in principle be obtained by solving the 'granular partition function'.
I discuss the theoretical foundations, the experiments and the simulations which supports such a theoretical approach to granular media, and applications.
