Abstract
This proposed Adaptive PDE-based Median Filter (APM Filter) is devised to suppress the high-density fixed-value impulse noise that degrades the quality of images. It is apparent from the quantitative measure - the PSNR values and the qualitative measure - the human visual perception that the noise suppression potential of APM filter is significantly higher. This filter broadly finds application in the areas, such as
image/video documentation, medical imaging and remote sensing.
