I accepted my first translation job approximately two or three months after graduating from college with a B.A. in English language and literature. Having passed two undergraduate courses on translation, I thought translating would be a breeze. Egypt's Ministry of Information had launched an ambitious cultural and educational project to translate into Arabic hundreds of different books on a variety of different subjects
