Volitional increase in diurnal enuresis appeared to result in rapid (within 5 days) acquisition of continence. From pretreatment to 13 month follow-up interview, the weekly wetting frequency decreased from an average of 25 to 0.5 episodes. Symptom rehearsal is believed to have interrupted the typical pathobehavioral sequence between the urge to void and micturition.
