Abstract

Usability is one of the most important qualities of a software system. Task-based design has prooved to deliver a high usability level. GTATool is a task analysis tool which combines the well-founded theoretical aspects of Groupware Task Analysis (GTA) method with the expressive and powerful notation Concur Task Trees (CTT). Our goal is to generate presentation and dialog models starting from the task models developed with our tool. In this paper we will focus on presenting a first step in dialog model generation: states identification. We have chosen a formal representation of the dialog model represented by statecharts.
