Urbanization in African cities has most often just been centered on only the ever growing population as a result of Rural-urban migration. As the urban population grow, socio-economic factors needed in place to foster development are almost nearly absent. This publication gives a view on the growing population of urban areas in African cities and measures local authorities and central government can put in place to ensure sustainable socio-economic development in urban areas and also rural areas-addressing the migration numbers.
