Аннотация
The globalized workplace is increasingly becoming complex that requires their employees to use complex knowledge and skills. Though acquiring such complex skills or knowledge requires longer time, the pace of business puts high pressure on organizations to shorten the time employees take to become proficient in their jobs. This shift in expectations has challenged the conventional training and learning strategies generally used by most of the organizations. This paper presents the preliminary findings of a Doctorate research carried out using Grounded theory approach through over 74 in-depth interviews with 86 leading experts from various organizations in 45 industries. Preliminary findings reported five e-learning strategies that hold strong potential to shorten time-to-proficiency of employees at the workplace. This paper outlines a conceptual model of how these five e-learning strategies could be orchestrated to accelerate speed-to-proficiency of employees at the workplace and reduce time-to-proficiency in acquiring complex job skills.
