This is done via a method known as extracellular electron transport. EET-capable bacterium can be used for different purposes, water reclamation, small power sources, electrosynthesis and pollution remedy. Research on EET-capable bacterium is in its early stages and most of the applications are in the developmental phase, but the scope for significant contributions is high and moving forward.
