Abstract

Foams and bubbles are structures we see in every day life and we all have a feeling for the shapes of bubbles by blowing bubbles as little kids. The shapes of foams and bubbles have been subject of investigation for a long time. Already in the 19th. century, Plateau formulated his famous Plateau rules for contact-angels sic in foams Pla73 and Bashforth and Adams tabulated numerical values for differential equations governing the shapes of drops with a very high precision BA83.
