Abstract
The spectacular growth of the University of Phoenix, Arizona, the U.S.'s largest for-profit institution, has been marred by controversy over its tactics. In particular, there have been allegations of enrollment malpractice and questions raised about the criteria used to determine graduation rates at this institution.
