Abstract
The size, shape, and location of the bubble nests of 154 fish were measured over a year. Nest making is practically universal in both sexes but males nest earlier and their activity accelerates more rapidly than females. Visual isolation does not prevent nesting in young males. Mated females do not participate in nesting. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2004 APA, all rights reserved)
