El fideicomiso para destinar recursos públicos de la ALDF al pago de colegiaturas de estudiantes inscritos en universidades privadas es revisado y analizado en la Asamblea Legislativa del DF (ALDF).
La crisis en la Comisión Nacional de Acreditación (CNA) ha sido clave para acrecentar la desconfianza de los jóvenes con un sistema que no garantiza la calidad de su educación. Todas las instituciones que han sido investigadas por acreditaciones fraudulentas y lucro han registrado bajas considerables en sus matrículas de primer año para 2013, al punto de que al menos 36 carreras se han cerrado por falta de interesados. CIPER recorrió las sedes en Santiago de cada una de esas instituciones y constató en terreno que, mientras la fiscalía y el Ministerio de Educación indagan las irregularidades, los jóvenes se muestran reticentes a inscribirse en establecimientos cuestionados.
Una merma importante en las cifras de confianza que los jóvenes tienen hacia este sector de la educación superior demostró el Índice de Confianza Pública dado a conocer este martes. Una cifra que se suma a las bajas en matrículas y el cierre de carreras en algunas de las instituciones cuestionadas. Analistas y dirigentes estudiantiles de los planteles investigados aseguran que esto se explica por las irregularidades conocidas y al lucro.
“En la universidad no nos ven como estudiantes, sino como clientes. Cada año inflan descaradamente los precios de las materias y de los trámites administrativos”, afirmó el alumno de la Universidad Latina Eduardo Cerdas Moya.
“Pagué ¢230.000 por un cartón para graduarme de bachiller en Periodismo”, dijo el estudiante de la Universidad Internacional de las Américas (UIA), Sergio Alvarado Pol.
Representantes de las universidades privadas que imparten carreras relacionadas con las ciencias de la salud, piden a la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) romper el “monopolio” que deja la formación de médicos especialistas únicamente en manos de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR).
A nivel de educación superior los centros privados obtienen menor calificación que los públicos, mientras que a nivel de primaria y secundaria la situación es distinta.
Veinticinco escuelas y colegios privados, y seis universidades privadas le adeudan un total de ¢222 millones a la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) por concepto de las cuotas obrero patronales.
Llama la atención que la mayor parte de las carreras acreditadas se imparten en las universidades públicas (Universidad de Costa Rica, Universidad Nacional, Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica y Universidad Estatal a Distancia) y son muy pocas las que se ofrecen en universidades privadas, pese a la gran cantidad de instituciones de educación privada que están registradas y que se anuncian por doquier.
Una acción de inconstitucionalidad, acogida para estudio por la Sala IV el viernes, cuestiona la legalidad del Sistema Nacional de Acreditación de la Educación Superior (Sinaes).
Modificar la oferta educativa será más fácil para aquellas universidades acreditadas por el Sinaes. El cambio se debe a un convenio entre el Consejo Nacional de Enseñanza Superior Universitaria Privada (Conesup) y el Sistema Nacional de Sistema Nacional de Acreditación de la Educación Superior (Sinaes) con el fin de agilizar los trámites y “promover la calidad educativa”.
Los jóvenes que decidan estudiar en alguna institución de educación superior privada y que no ingresaron a la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP), pueden hacer el cambio o revalidación de materias para ingresar a esta máxima casa de estudios en el semestre siguiente, siempre y cuando haya compatibilidad en los programas de estudio.
El desarrollo de los países del llamado primer mundo ha radicado a través de las décadas en que han apostado por la inversión en la educación y principalmente en la investigación. En Nicaragua, una de las principales problemáticas en las universidades es la escasa cultura investigativa, es por ello que una de las universidades privadas de la Asociación de Universidades Privadas de Centroamérica (Auprica), está desarrollando esfuerzos y ejercicios de investigación con sus estudiantes y docentes.
Este martes vence el plazo entregado por el Ministerio de Educación a las universidades privadas, para que hagan llegar sus alcances sobre el proyecto que busca crear la Superintendencia de Educación Superior.
La ministra de Educación, Carolina Schmidt, se reunió con los rectores de los planteles privados que no pertenecen al Consejo de Rectores de la Universidades Chilenas (Cruch), para dar a conocer los lineamientos de los cambios que se discuten para implementar en materia de institucionalidad, supervisión y aseguramiento de la calidad de la educación superior.
La Federación Universitaria Potosina (FUP) firmó un convenio de colaboración con 12 universidades privadas, a fin de que ofrezcan becas del 20 al 50 por ciento para algunos estudiantes que no sean admitidos en la Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí.
La gratuidad universal en la educación es una de las principales promesas de la campaña de Michelle Bachelet. En un comienzo, se pensó que los beneficiados serían los alumnos de las universidades tradicionales pero la ex presidenta aclaró que el objetivo es incluir también a los estudiantes de planteles privados.
