Along with changing the way appointments are made, the service introduced text, postal and telephone reminders to reduce the number of appointments missed because they were forgotten. Now the service is exploring the introduction of a text cancellation option for patients so their appointment slots can be offered to others and they can be given an alternative more promptly.
