Hospital team aims to reduce Neonatal admissions - SaTH


Description

As part of a national project called ATAIN (Avoiding Term Admissions Into Neonatal units) to reduce admissions, the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is using a novel method to keep mums and babies together.

There are four main reasons why babies born at term (after 37 weeks) may be admitted unexpectedly onto a Neonatal Unit. These are: breathing problems, low blood sugar, jaundice and asphyxia.
