Kindergeld, Betreuungsgeld, Elternzeit und Ehegattensplitting: Familienpolitische Leistungen in Deutschland sind so zahlreich wie unwirksam. Zu diesem Schluss kommt laut "Spiegel" eine von der Bundesregierung in Auftrag gegebene Studie. Wirtschaftlich sinnvoll sei es vielmehr, in Betreuungsplätze zu investieren.
