Die Hilfsmilliarden der Euro-Partner für Griechenland sind einem Zeitungsbericht zufolge zu mehr als drei Vierteln bei Banken und Kapitalanlegern gelandet. Wie die "Süddeutsche Zeitung" unter Berufung auf Recherchen des globalisierungskritischen Bündnisses Attac berichtet, gingen von den 207 Milliarden Euro an Krediten, die bisher nach Athen überwiesen worden seien, fast 160 Milliarden Euro an Geldhäuser und Kapitalanleger. "Das Ziel der politischen Eliten ist nicht die Rettung der griechischen Bevölkerung, sondern die des Finanzsektors", sagte Lisa Mittendrein von Attac Österreich, der "SZ".

Die Angst vor einem Zusammenbruch von Euro und europäischer Gemeinschaft treibt sie um. „Wir müssen bereit sein, für Europa Geld in die Hand zu nehmen“, fordert etwa Hypo-Vereinsbank-Chef Theodor Weimer.
