Das europäische Verhandlungsmandat für das CETA-Abkommen mit Kanada wurde bisher unter Verschluss gehalten. Nun macht foodwatch drei geleakte CETA-Dokumente öffentlich, klassifiziert mit der Geheimhaltungsstufe „Restreint UE/EU Restricted“: Den usprünglichen Mandatstext von April 2009, einen Änderungsentwurf von 2010 sowie die schließlich im Juli 2011 vorgenommene Ergänzung des Mandats.
Das Verhandlungsmandat für das europäisch-kanadische Freihandelsabkommen CETA bleibt Verschlusssache. Auf Anfrage der Verbraucherorganisation foodwatch lehnten sowohl das Bundeswirtschaftsministerium als auch die Europäische Kommission und der Europäische Rat die Veröffentlichung des Dokuments ab.
