BRÜSSEL Wenn Donald Trump nächste Woche zum Wirtschaftsforum nach Davos reist, ist allen klar: Freihandel steht nicht auf der Agenda des US-Präsidenten. In den ersten beiden Amtsjahren hat zwar noch nie ein Regierungschef aus den USA ein Freihandelsabkommen abgeschlossen. Doch bei dem „America first“-Politiker hat auch niemand so recht die Hoffnung, dass er in den Jahren danach auch nur die Gespräche über ein Abkommen mit Europa wieder aufnimmt. TTIP ist klinisch tot, obwohl weder die USA noch die EU die Vereinbarung offiziell beerdigt haben. Wenn irgendwann ein neuer Anlauf unternommen werden sollte, wäre wohl ein neuer Name fällig. „TTIP“ gilt wegen der massiven Proteste als nicht mehr tragfähig.
