In november 2011 I have given a short course on using LaTeX for psychological researchers, which included the following subjects:
how to obtain a LaTeX distribution
How to use LaTeX to write professional scientific reports
How to use the apa document class to produce articles in APA-style
How to use BibTeX and apacite to easily add references from google scholar and completely automate the reference list
How to use Beamer to produce presentation slides
How to use Sweave to incorperate R codes in your LaTeX document to keep your analyses reproducible
On this page are all the slides and examples used in the course as well as a lot of additional links to other online resources.
John Collins has released version 4.05 of his latexmk script. The new version fixes several bugs. Latexmk completely automates the process of generating a LaTeX document. Given the source files for a document, latexmk issues the appropriate sequence of commands to generate a DVI, PS, PDF or hardcopy version of the document.
An important feature is the “preview continuous mode”, where the script watches all of the source files (primary file and included TeX and graphics files), and reruns LaTeX, etc., whenever a source file has changed. Thus a previewer can have an updated display whenever the source files change.
