Scholarpedia is a peer-reviewed open-access encyclopedia written and maintained by scholarly experts from around the world. Scholarpedia is inspired by Wikipedia and aims to complement it by providing in-depth scholarly treatments of academic topics.
This wiki was created to be a one-stop shop for great ideas and information for all types of librarians. All over the world, librarians are developing successful programs and doing innovative things with technology that no one outside of their library knows about. There are lots of great blogs out there sharing information about the profession, but there is no one place where all of this information is collected and organized. That's what we're trying to do.
Our aim is to develop an open source standardized online platform, the Open Encyclopedia System, for building and maintaining online encyclopedias in the fields of humanities and social sciences that provide readers worldwide free and unrestricted online access to scientific content (Open Access).
