Abstract

This paper describes the results of investigation into the influence of kind of Kaolins on flashover voltages of artificially contaminated insulators. Significant differences are observed in contamination flashover voltage among various kinds of Kaolins. The difference in the flashover voltage is considered attributable to the differences in the particle size, uniformity of contaminant layer on the insulator surface and the kind of main minerals included in Kaolin.
