Abstract

Many technological systems can be modelled by means of a scale-free network. The particular topology of these objects can reveal information on the social processes that shaped it. The paramount example of this situation is given by the World Wide Web (WWW) and the Wikipedia. The WWW is a well-known system, while the second consists by the pages of the online encyclopedia browsable at http://www.wikipedia.org. We present here an analysis of the community structure of the Wikipedia pages. Interestingly, this on-line archive presents a superimposed (even if self-defined) category structure that we compare with clustering obtained from standard algorithm of community detection.
