Abstract

Chemiluminescence arising from the reaction of ozone with Coumarin 47 adsorbed on dry silica gel is exploited to measure stratospheric and tropospheric ozone concentrations. Advantages of the new ozone sensor are its simplicity, low weight and power consumption, high sensitivity, and extremely short response time. The flow rate, pressure, temperature, and humidity dependencies of the sensitivity have been measured, and are reported in concise form.
