Abstract

The article discusses the rapid growth of both digital systems and identifiers in the field of library science in the U.S. As defined, identifiers in electronic systems maybe in the form of numbers, letters, and symbols to represent something. These identifiers may not be necessary in the exchange of information, however, it is necessary as key components of functions in library networking. It must also conform to the existing network standards to provide interactions between library resources and the Internet.
