Abstract

Preventing performance problems is a challenging task for todays IT systems. Model-based performance prediction can be used to ensure quality of service. The Descartes Modeling Language (DML) is an architectural performance modeling language which is solved through transformations to predictive models. In this thesis we propose a transformation from DML to Queueing Networks (QNs), a predictive modeling formalism. This enables to solve DML models based on QN analysis approaches. QNs are highly researched and offer various analysis tools and apporaches.
