Abstract

Translation studies is a relatively new area of academic research that has expanded greatly in recent years (Munday 2001: 17). As teachers of translation studies, we always tell the students to determine how many branches the subject has and to analyze the branches. Translation studies covers interdisciplinary fields,The Routledge Companion to Translation Studies gives us an overall and clear view on the branches of this discipline. Published by Routledge in 2009, this book is one of the Routledge Companions. It consists of nine chapters and an appendix about the ‘key concepts’. The nine chapters are written by leading translation scholars. Each chapter discusses a topic using vivid examples.
