The power network endurance und~r seismic stresses is essential for the continuation
of social and economical life of the related district and for the supporting of the rescue
activities. ln this paper a research program is presented. The program was given and
supported by Ρ.Ρ .C. to the Laboratory for Earthquake Engineering of the National
Technical Uniνersity of Athens. The scope of the research was the inνestigation of the
νulnerability of the main equipment and the definition of methods and practices
improving their seismic resistance.
