Abstract

With the adoption of differential displacement (relative bending amplitude between the clamp and conductor) as a criterion for assessing aeolian vibration levels, several utilities are now using this method to study the vibrational characteristics of transmission lines. This paper shows how recording equipment can affect the data obtained, and thereby provide information that could be misleadine;. A lightweight sensor used for comparative purposes is described.
