Zusammenfassung

A semi-infinite superlattice structure consisting of a periodical array of n- and p-doped semiconductors layers intercalated by an insulator is considered and it is examined how the electron-energy-loss spectroscopy can be used to probe the spectra of surface plasmon modes which propagate in these structures. A backscattering geometry is used for the scattered electron and a semiclassical theoretical approach for interpreting the electron-energy-loss spectra.
