Faculty, administrator and staff perceptions of university values and norms in a private university setting

The study compares perceptions of university values and norms among faculty, administrators and staff in a large, private university setting. A questionnaire was developed to obtain responses from these three groups in the following five categories: (1) Organizational Mission, (2) Mission and Major Accountabilities Agreement, (3) Organizational Culture, (4) Leadership, and (5) Management Practices. The study compared perceptions between positions (faculty, administrators and staff) and within positions by gender (male and female). There were significant differences in the comparisons of staff responses to responses by faculty and administrators. There were also significant differences between male and female staff responses.
