It also discusses the temporary electrical faults caused by ice and wind. Referring to a previous report 1 , the paper gives further information on the severe problems resulting from the droppings of the Egyptian vultures, which caused several hundred temporary faults. A statistical record of all the faults is presented. The tower failures and faults experienced are evaluated in relation to the mechanical loading assumptions and design criteria. A brief summary is given of the countermeasures being adopted.
