Abstract

Mutual Information and Normalised Mutual Information measures are investigated. The goal is the analysis of some fitness functions based in mutual information and what problems prevent them from common use. We identify and find a clear explanation to them, thereafter, we propose new fitness functions and ran several experiments to investigate their effect on the search space, convergence time, and quality of solutions.
