This chapter concerns iterative methods for solution of the discrete Navier–Stokes equations. The emphasis is on preconditioning methods tailored to the structure of the linearized differential equations and the impact of boundary conditions on derivation of methods. These ideas are combined with multigrid methods and algorithms for nonlinear iteration.
