Abstract
Fruits and seeds of Citullilus colocynthis grown in different elevations a.s.l., based on collected fresh individuals from two geographical regions in Egypt, Sinai and Matrouh. The soil from 11 chosen sites, has analyzed to investigate its chemical composition. Ripened fruits have been collected from each site and measured; meanwhile the associated species in each site have been recorded. The ripened fruits have shown great variations in colour, diameter and exocarp ornamentation. The seeds showed
significant differences in their numbers /fruit, weights and wax depositions. The results were subjected to ANOVA test to qualify the degree of variations. While the fruits and seeds were measured and photographed using Stereomicroscope. This work indicates that the elevation a.s.l. does not affect both soil composition and the
morphological characters of fruits and seeds.
