Essentially similar results were obtained in the bottle containing 0.02 mg of crude brain extract per milliliter. In the bottle containing 2 mg of brain extract per milliliter by contrast, not only was the initial excitatory phase absent, but there was also a lag, with one fish showing the nose up-tail down behavior at 45 minutes and only four fish showing this behavior at 1 hour."
