Data for the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics and ordinary least squares OLS analysis was used to test the hypothesis using Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS . The findings show that related party transaction has statistical positive relationship on the return on equity of the quoted Nigerian commercial banks. Based on the findings of this study, the researcher recommends that equity shareholders must always ensure that dividend declared are not based on falsified profit especially when related party transactions which has inherent risk of corporate failure are involved.
