Abstract

The number of integrated services or tools designed to characterize value and enhance the output of legal practitioners' workflow is growing, not least because information service providers need to differentiate between themselves and their nearest competitors. In addition, legal services are under pressure to provide a more efficient and speedy service to clients. Legal citation tools and checkers are one of the aids rapidly increasing in sophisticated functionality. This article briefly reviews some of the major citation tools available, and focuses on one in particular, LexisCheck, as an example of a tool that brings together most of the desired functionality of a true citation checker. © The Author(s) 2012.
